Contemporary Spanish dancer/choreographer Blanca Li is bringing her new show "Goddesses & Demonesses" to The City Center for a three-night limited engagement on March 30th through April 1st.

The show is a full-length dance performance featuring Blanca and Maria Alexandrova, principal dancer of Russia's Bolshoi Ballet. "Goddesses & Demonesses" is a cross-cultural celebration of femininity in all of its complexities - from sinner to saint; nurturing mother to femme fatale - and incorporates legend mythology, classical ballet and contemporary dance.

With music from Tao Gutierrez, light design from Caty Olive and costumes courtesy from four of the world's most foremost fashion designers: Jean-Paul Gaultier, Azzedine Alaïa, Stella McCartney and Sophie Theallet - the audience will be taken deep into the universe of dance with this beautiful piece.

Originally hailing from Granada, Spain, Blanca founded her own contemporary Dance Company in 1993, which is as thriving and relevant as ever. She is a genre-breaking, multi-talent (Director, choreographer, dancer and actress) whose body of work spans theatre, film, opera, commercials, music videos, fashion, museum installations and site-specific events. Her collaborators have included Beyonce, Daft Punk, Kanye West, Coldplay, Pedro Almodovar, Michael Gondry, The Metropolitan Opera and the Paris Opera Ballet.

Her unique storytelling voice combines an ironic sense of humor with a broad range of movement influences including hip-hop, flamenco and classic ballet. Blanca currently lives in Paris (in 2014 she was named an Officer of the Légion d'Honneur by French President François Hollande) and has created more than 30 shows. "Goddesses & Demonesses" first premiered at the Theatres des Champs-Elysees in Paris.
