After a 13-month process, Abarukas, a contemporary dance company full of power and wit, presents new evening-length "No Man is an Island" - a work exploring a metaphor of desolation and desire, and No Man is an Island employs storylines of a person's lost connections to surroundings in a timeless and liminal space with a struggles to decipher reality from imagination. This work also unfolds a story of love and loss.

As a young company comprised of nine dancers, Abarukas has already gained notoriety at Jacob's Pillow Inside/Out series, Booking Dance Festival, The Dance Gallery Festival, APAP at Peridance, and more. Artistic director/choreographer Yoshito Sakuraba has won the Pretty Creatives International Choreographic Competition 2015 at Northwest Dance Project. Using contemporary vocabulary as a conduit for storytelling, the ensemble of Abarukas brings an experience of intimacy for audiences. Additionally, his dancer's athleticism and improvisation create conversations engaging to a broad range of spectators.
