NYC singer, rapper, DJ, producer and boundary-breaking artist TECLA released her new album, We Are The Lucky Ones, on March 19th via Mayimba Music. It blends tropical, Caribbean, pop, and funk elements and written entirely by TECLA herself. Anthemic album track "Money" is TECLA's satirical take on gold digging, with an instantly memorable hook. It will be released as a single next month, and for now, fans can stream the track to get a taste of TECLA's infectious sound. Click below to get a first listen!

We Are The Lucky Ones opens with title track "Lucky Ones," full of skittering beats and rumbling synth, which soundtrack TECLA's message of understanding your own privilege. First single "Fake Tears" features her distinct, soulful vocals delivering an uplifting message above driving tribal beats. The hypnotic and soulful "Tragic Mulatto" was co-produced by members of Chairlift. "Fiction Fairytales of Love" closes the album with an ominous dancehall beat, spiraling vocals, and melancholic acoustic guitar, which explodes into layers of hand drumming and feedback.

Local fans have two upcoming chances to catch TECLA live, tonight at Bowery Electric andMay 28th at Le Poisson Rouge. Be sure to catch her inspiring live show, and stay tuned for more from TECLA coming soon.
