Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC) opens 2013 with Winnie the Pooh, the third of its Professional 2012-2013 61stSeason, based on the book by A.A. Milne. Directed by Jerry Whiddon, director of the Helen Hayes Award Recipient for Outstanding Production, Theatre for Young Audiences' If You Give a Pig a Pancake, and adapted by Clanché du Rand, Winnie The Pooh will feature Washington, D.C. area favorites including James Gardiner and Todd Scofield in their ATMTC debut and Joshua Morgan, Artistic Director of No Rules Theatre Co. ATMTC will also continue its introduction of youth actors to the professional stage with Holden Brettell as Christopher Robin. This show is recommended for all ages. Tickets are $19 each and can be purchased online atwww.adventuretheatre-mtc.org or by calling 301.634.2270.

Winnie the Pooh is Christopher Robin's fat little bear of Very Little Brain, who would like to drift peacefully through life, humming tunes and stopping frequently to eat "a little something." Follow Pooh and Piglet on a Heffalump hunt, watch Rabbit scheme to rid the forest of Kanga's dreaded bathtub, and help Eeyore search for his tail. Pooh's intentions are always the best, but his passion for honey and condensed milk keeps getting him into trouble.

Group and field trip rates are available. Tickets can be purchased through the box office by calling 301-634-2270 or online atwww.adventuretheatre-mtc.org. Children under the age of 1 are free. The press performance will be Sunday, January 20 at 2pm. All performances will take place at Adventure Theatre MTC, 7300 MacArthur Blvd, Glen Echo, MD, 20812 in the historic Glen Echo Park.

Michael J. Bobbitt, Producing Artistic Director at Adventure Theatre MTC says of the show, "The world should truly be how Winnie the Pooh sees it, simple and small with good friends to guide you. There is no better lesson for kids. Whiddon's brilliant casting will make this a truly remarkable show on the ATMTC stage, and we're thrilled to bring another youth actor to ATMTC's professional stage as Christopher Robin among some of D.C.'s finest actors."
