Perhaps most recognized as a finalist on the tenth season of "American Idol," Casey Abrams brings his unique sound to the Suncoast Showroom October 5 and 6.

Abrams released his self-titled debut album in 2012, where he co-wrote the songs, played bass, acoustic guitar, drums, Wurlitzer and recorder. The single "Get Out" charted at No. 23 on Billboard's US Top-40 and No. 39 in the Hot Adult Contemporary charts. The single "Simple Life" hit No. 9 on the US Smooth Adult Contemporary chart. Abrams worked with producer Martin Terefe, who has worked with Jason Mraz, Train, Mary J. Blige, KT Tunstall and others.

In 2011, Abrams and fellow "American Idol" finalist Haley Reinhart recorded and released the holiday themed "Baby, It's Cold Outside," which peaked within the Hot Adult Contemporary Top 40.

In addition to his musical parents and Idyllwild Arts Academy jazz and upright bass instructor Marshall Hawkins, Abrams says that jazz icons Oscar Peterson, Thelonious Monk and Cannonball Adderley are significant inspirations, while he lists James Taylor, Freddie Mercury, AC/DC and Jack Black as other major influences.
