AMERICAN HORROR STORY: INSIDE THE COVEN Featurettes Unveiled & New Promo

The hotly anticipated Season Three premiere of FX's hit horror anthology series American Horror Story is only a few days away and the promotional push continues with two brand new featurettes and a brand new promo that shed considerable more light on the witch-centric new season of the edgy thrill ride, subtitled COVEN.

"There is a storm coming," Jessica Lange warns in her new guise as a grand dame Salem queen recently transported to New Orleans in the new promo, also featuring S5 additions Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett, among others.

Two new behind-the-scenes featurettes have been introduced, as well, with one outlining the importance of the city of New Orleans to this season's tale, titled "The Underbelly Of NOLA", and another dissecting the psychology behind some of the scares and offering a handful of die-hard AMERICAN HORROR STORY fans the chance to experience some of the scares first hand with the first part of "COVEN: The Experience".

Additionally, earlier this week FX also introduced nearly a dozen more installments in the continuing series of particularly eye-grabbing and inventive new viral video advertisements for the show, showcasing the wild thrills and weird scares coming up in Season Three.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN centers on a modern-day witch academy in New Orleans, featuring returning series star Jessica Lange and new addition Kathy Bates alongside Season Three featured players Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Frances Conroy, Gabourey Sidibe, Denis O'Hare, Patti LuPone, Evans Peters, Taissa Farmiga, Lily Rabe and Emma Roberts.

The official description of AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN is as follows: ""Coven" tells the secret history of witches and witchcraft in America. Over 300 years have passed since the turbulent days of the Salem witch trials and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are Being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves. Wrapped up in the turmoil is new arrival, Zoe (Farmiga), who is harboring a terrifying secret of her own. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona (Lange), the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way."

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN premieres on October 9 at 10 PM.
