Weather Report for NYC (National Weather Service):

WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EDT
THURSDAY

* WHAT: Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 12 to 18 inches are expected, with locally higher amounts possible.

* WHERE: Portions of northeast New Jersey, Fairfield County in southern Connecticut, and the New York City metropolitan area in southeast New York.

* WHEN: Until 6 AM EDT Thursday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Snow this morning will become heavy by afternoon and into the evening. Expect significant reductions in visibility at times. A combination of the heavy snow and occasional wind gusts up to 40 mph could bring down tree limbs and power lines, creating power outages. Travel will be very difficult to impossible, especially during the evening commute.

RECOMMENDED ACTIONS: A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Check local Department of Transportation information services for the latest road conditions.
