ALMOST HUMAN, NEW GIRL Propel Fox to No. 2 for the Week in Adults 18-34

FOX's week was propelled by strong performances by ALMOST HUMAN, THE FOLLOWING, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, New Girl and American Idol XIII, leading the network to Rank No. 2 for the week Adults 18-34 and No. 3 among Adults 18-49.

On Monday, Almost Human and THE FOLLOWING led FOX to post +19% gains week-over-week in Adults 18-49 (1.9/5 vs. 1.6/4) and +20% among Adults 18-34 (1.2/4 vs. 1.0/3) over the previous week's prime averages. Almost Human and THE FOLLOWING were the top two dramas of the night in Men 18-49.

Tuesday's New Girl tied as highest-rated program of the night in Adults 18-34 and was the No. 1 comedy of the night outright in the demo.

American Idol XIII's "Hollywood or Home" round led FOX to win Wednesday night in Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Teens and all key demos, and was up +3% week-to-week in Adults 18-49 and +22% from Thursday night (3.9/11 vs. 3.2/9, 1/30/14, 8-9p). American Idol retained 94% of the same telecast last year, Hollywood Week Night One, in Total Viewers (13.4 vs. 14.3 Mil on 2/6/13).

American Idol XIII was the highest-rated program of the night, outperforming the No. 2 programs by +11% in Adults 18-49 (3.9/11 vs 3.5/9 for Modern Family), +28% in Teens (2.3/8 vs. 1.8/7 for The Middle) and +4% in Total Viewers (13.4 vs. 12.9 Mil for Criminal Minds, 9p). In female demos, AMERICAN IDOL's advantage over the No. 2 programs include +29% in Women 18-49 (4.9/13 vs. 3.8/10 for Modern Family) and +36% in Women 25-54 (6.4/15 vs. 4.7/10 for Criminal Minds.) American Idol was also No. 1 for the night among Adults 18-34 (tied with Modern Family, 2.7 rating).

On Thursday, despite airing against the first night of Olympics, American Idol XIII grew half-hour to half-hour, gaining +14% in its second half hour versus its first in Adults 18-49 (half hours: 2.9/9 > 3.3/9) and +13% in Total Viewers (10.4 > 11.7 Mil).

Overall, FOX had:

· 2 of the Top 20 programs among Adults 18-49: American Idol Wed. (No. 6) and American Idol Thurs. (No. 9).

· 4 of the Top 20 programs among Adults 18-34: American Idol Wed. (No. 7), American Idol Thurs. (No. 10), New Girl (No. 14) and Family Guy ENCORE (No. 18).

· 3 of the Top 20 programs among Teens: American Idol Wed. (No. 5), American Idol Thurs. (No. 6) and Family Guy ENCORE (No. 15).

· 2 of the Top 20 programs among Total Viewers: American Idol Wed. (No. 10) and American Idol Thurs. (No. 15).

Program and Nightly Highlights

Monday: FOX ranked No. 3 among Adults 18-49 for the night. FOX posted week-over-week gains in Adults 18-49 (+19%, 1.9/5 vs. 1.6/4) and Adults 18-34 (+20%, 1.2/4 vs. 1.0/3) over last week's prime averages.

Almost Human posted a 1.9/5 among Adults 18-49 at 8p, while THE FOLLOWING did a 1.9/5 at 9p. Almost Human and THE FOLLOWING were the top two dramas of the night in Men 18-49 (1.9/6 and 1.8/5, respectively).

Tuesday: FOX ranked No. 3 among Adults 18-49 (tie) for the night.

DADS at 8p (1.5/4) was followed by an encore Brooklyn Nine-Nine at 8:30p (1.3/4).

New Girl posted a 1.6/4 in Adults 18-49. New Girl tied as highest-rated program of the night in Adults 18-34 and was the No. 1 comedy of the night outright in the demo.

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE's 9:30pm time period premiere was even with THE MINDY PROJECT's prior 13/14 season average (originals only) in Adults 18-49 ( 1.4/4, 9/17/13-1/21/14), but up 14% in Total Viewers (3.2 vs. 2.8 Mil) and 60% in Teens (0.8/3 vs. 0.5/2).

Wednesday: FOX won the night in Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Teens and all key demos. In fact, FOX outperformed the second highest-rated networks of the night by +86% in Adults 18-49 (3.9/11 vs. 2.1/6 for CBS), +93% in Adults 18-34 (2.7/9 vs. 1.4/5 for ABC), +130% in Teens (2.3/8 vs. 1.0/4 for ABC, CBS and Univision) and +25% in Total Viewers (13.4 vs 10.7 Mil for CBS).

American Idol was up +3% week-to-week in Adults 18-49 (3.9/11 vs. 3.8/10, 1/29/14) and +22% from Thursday night (3.9/11 vs. 3.2/9, 1/30/14, 8-9p).

Saturday: FOX ranked No. 5 (tie with Telemundo) in Adults 18-49 with encores of RAKE (0.3/1) and THE FOLLOWING (0.2/1).

Sunday: FOX ranked No. 3 among Adults 18-49 (tie), Adults 18-34 and Teens for the night with encore animated comedies. BOB'S BURGERS delivered 0.6/2 at 7p and AMERICAN DAD delivered 0.7/2 among Adults 18-49. At 8p, The Simpsons posted a 1.1/3 followed by another BOB'S BURGERS with a 1.1/3 rating. Family Guy rose to a 1.5/3 at 9p and AMERICAN DAD delivered 1.2/3 at 9:30p.
