Long-running daytime sudser ALL MY CHILDREN, which recently received a new life on-line, has been cancelled, according to the Tweets posted by several of the series stars.

Following an inquiry by fan Jane Hunt about the fate of the show, series star Debbi Morgan tweeted, "@JaneJanehunt49 @CadyMcClain The show is not coming back, Jane...It's so sad & just a real bummer..."

Morgan's co-star, Cady McClain took to her Facebook to address the reported cancellation.

"If you aren't hearing anything about the ending of AMC as we know it, it's really out of shock. I am also trying to allow [Prospect Park] to have the moment to contact all the actors and explain what is and has been going on with AMC, and then gather themselves to try and explain it all to you, the fans," McClain posted.

The actress, who portrays Dixie Cooney on the show, revealed that the cast was just recently told by Prospect Park that they were good to go for another season. However, not much later, the cast was "very recently contacted and told that, with great regret, 'AMC' won't be going back online this year, or in this particular incarnation. Certainly hope springs eternal that we will yet again, spring from the dead," she said.

Following their cancellations on ABC, Prospect Park revived both "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" in 2013. However, problems quickly arose involving legal issues with ABC as well as the episode release structure and a labor dispute.

Summed up McCain on her Facebook, "Instead of going into the 'What Went Wrong' question, I think I'd rather focus on the gratitude I feel for having been asked to continue with the show. If I am still wanted as an actor on daytime, it is all because of YOU, the FANS."
