The Barrow Group has announced its 2016/2017 season, which will include MainStage productions, readings, and events.

"We are thrilled to bring New York audiences three MainStage shows this season as we continue our quest to enlighten and inspire" says co-Artistic Director, Seth Barrish.

The Barrow Group launches their MainStage season in November with ABIGAIL'S PARTY, presented in associated with The Pond Theatre Company. Written by Mike Leigh (Grief) and directed by Lee Brock, ABIGAIL'S PARTY begins previews at the TBG Theatre at The Barrow Group (312 West 36th Street, 3rd Floor) on Thursday, November 10, 2016, with an opening night currently scheduled for Sunday, November 13, 2016. The production will play a strictly limited engagement through Saturday, December 3, 2016.

ABIGAIL'S PARTY will star Lily Dorment (The Unrepeatable Moment), Colleen Clinton (A Beautiful Dark), Sarah Street ("Shelter"), and Nick Hetherington (Our Country's Good), with set design by Edward T. Morris (Pirate La Dee Da), lighting design by Marika Kent (The Unrepeatable Moment), and sound design by Matt Otto (The Pavilion). This 1977 brilliantly observed comedy captures epic denial in London suburbia and still hits a nerve about the way we live.

The second production will be a new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE, written by TBG Co-Artistic Director Seth Barrish (Thank God For Jokes, All the Rage) and K. Lorrel Manning ("Happy New Year") and directed by Manning. This spell-binding, suspenseful tale about a man taking on a town asks searing, fundamental questions: What happens when a democratic majority chooses unwisely? How can we best face the extraordinary challenges coming our way? ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE begins performances on March 10, 2017 for a strictly limited run through April 1, 2017.

The Barrow Group will close out the MainStage season with EXPECTING ISABEL. Written by Pulitzer finalist Lisa Loomer (Distracted) and directed by Seth Barrish, EXPECTING ISABEL is a heart-warming story of a middle-aged woman desperately seeking to have a child who runs into all sorts of formidable obstacles. The production begins performances on June 10, 2017 for a strictly limited run through July 1, 2017.

Additional cast and creative teams for MainStage shows to be announced at a later date, along with the 2016/17 MainStage Reading selections. Tickets for all MainStage productions go on sale in September 2016 at $25, and can be purchased at www.barrowgroup.org/tickets.

In addition to season tickets, The Barrow Group launched a Young Professionals Membership Group this year. Members have special nights to enjoy the season's show, plus additional social events. Packages are available online at www.barrowgroup.org.

Throughout the season, The Barrow Group will host a variety of community artistic events, including a Solo Show Series, a 24-Hour Play Festival in January 2017, a 48-Hour Film Festival in December 2016, F.A.B. Women @ TBG, a Playwrights' Sunday Reading Series, and Student Showcase Productions.
