viBe Theater Experience (viBe), an award-winning 501(c)(3) non-profit performing arts and education organization, hosts its annual gala on Tuesday, October 18 from 6:30-9:30 pm at Taj II Lounge, 48 W 21st Street, NYC. Tickets may be purchased athttps://www.nycharities.org/events/EventLevels.aspx?etid=9309.

viBe empowers New York City's underserved girls through the process of creating original works in theater, music and video about the real-life issues they face daily. From stage plays and album recording, to theater apprenticeship and leadership training, viBe fosters in its students the confidence, camaraderie and character education needed for success.

Since its founding in 2002, viBe has cultivated a strong and engaged community of female leaders (and leaders in training) who continue to support the arts, enroll in college (90+% rate, significantly higher than NYC's average) and, importantly, give back to the organization through volunteerism, mentorship and giving.

Themed "LEADING THE WAY," the 2016 viBenefit will recognize Broadway producer Alia Jones-Harvey of "Eclipsed" and the African American productions of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," "The Trip to Bountiful" and "A Streetcar Named Desire" for her contributions. MS. Harvey's commitment to showcasing talented African American artists in some of America's most iconic productions is inspiring to the viBe community.

viBe empowers girls through intensive, free programs, which engage and inspire them to write, create, publish, direct and perform personal and truthful collaborative theater and music. For more information visit vibetheater.org.
