Christopher Wheeldon, Best Choreography/Best Direction of a Musical for An American in Paris

"I was watching it on the TV. I don't normally watch TV in the early morning, but this morning was obviously different! Then I did a happy dance. It's so unexpected and I'm so excited. This is all so new to me! This whole experience has been a dream- just starting out with Paris, fixing things, and the previews, and then opening here.... this is the cherry on top of the sundae though. I actually spent the day mixing the cast recording. A soon as I heard the news, that's where I went. It's going to sound great!"
