Perseverance Theatre is taking two new plays from script to stage this year with Summerfest Unplugged. This weekend, July 11th and 12th the event features a reading on the PT Mainstage of two new works: House of Dreams and Into the Wild, and the audience will get a chance to talk about the work with the authors, composers, and creators in special discussions and receptions after the shows.

Both plays are based on true Alaskan stories. On July 11 at 4pm and July 12 at 7:30pm, House of Dreams imagines what happened when actor John Barrymore sailed the Infanta to Lemesurier Island to visit friends at a homestead not far from Glacier Bay.

At 7:30pm on July 11th and 4pm on July 12th, Into the Wild; a musical, takes another look at the story of Christopher McCandless. Music and lyrics by Niko Tsakalakos and lyrics and story by Janet Allard help bring Christopher, his family, and the friends he meets on his journey to life.

An all-access day pass to this event is $25. Student/Military/Seniors are $20 and Perseverance Season Subscribers pay $12. Tickets include attendance at a reading of each show and the receptions and discussions following.

Tickets available at the JAHC, Hearthside Books, and by calling 463-TIXS or visiting ptalaska.org.
