Perseverance Theatre closes its 35th Season with the hilarious farce Boeing Boeing by Marc Camoletti, translated by Beverley Cross & Francis Evans. Boeing Boeing runs on the Perseverance Mainstage May 2 - May 25, 2014. Tickets are available through Hearthside Books, the JACC, online at perseverancetheatre.org or by calling 907-463-TIXS (8497). There are two Pay-As-You-Can Previews on Sunday, April 27 and Wednesday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. and two Pay-As-You-Can Performances on Sunday, May 4 and Thursday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m.

This hilarious farce is set in the swinging 1960s, where bachelor Bernard is living the life: a flat in Paris and not one, not two, but three gorgeous airline attendants who are all engaged to him and unknowing of each other. When Bernard's long-time friend Robert comes to visit, and Boeing invents a faster jet, Bernard's perfect life begins to get a bit bumpy. As all three stewardesses end-up in the apartment simultaneously, timid Robert begins forgetting which lies to tell to whom, and Bernard has hard time juggling it all, the hijinks and hilarity begin.

The cast includes Juneau favorites Christina Apathy, Allison Holtkamp, Rebecca Orford, James Sullivan and visiting guest artists Lija Fisher and Bristol Pomeroy. The show is directed by Juneau actor/director Brandon Demery

The production features a colorful set designed by Ernest Eckerson (The K of D) and retro 1960s costumes designed by Rick Silaj (A Raisin in the Sun). Lucy Peckham (Betrayal) and Artistic Director Art Rotch (God of Carnage) design the sound and light, respectively.

Marc Camoletti was born a French citizen in Geneva, Switzerland to an Italian family. Of the 40 plays he wrote, Boeing Boeing is his best-known work. The 1991 Guinness Book of World Records listed it as the most-performed French play in the world. It was first produced in London in 1962 and ran for seven years at Duchess Theatre. Camoletti's plays have been translated into 18 languages, performed in 55 countries, and adapted into 14 film and television versions. The play enjoyed revivals in London and on Broadway in 2007 and 2008. The Broadway revival received six Tony Award nominations and won two: Best Revival of a Play and Best Leading Actor (Mark Rylance).

Performances of Boeing Boeing are 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, with a 2 p.m. matinee on the last Sunday (May 25). There are two Pay-As-You-Can Previews on Sunday, April 27 and Wednesday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. and two Pay-As-You-Can Performances on Sunday, May 4 and Thursday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m.
