Still In The Game is a co-production with SageRight Productions.

DS Magid directs Sotto Voce, a new play written and performed in English by Nilo Cruz, which premiered in New York in 2016. Saquiel is a young Cuban Jewish writer trying to connect with Bemadette, an old woman whose lover was one of the 937 Jewish refugees on the ill-fated SS St. Louis forced to return to Nazi Germany after being refused entry at Havana and Miami. The Columbian maid Lucila tries to reconcile their differences. Performances are April 29-October 15.

Teatro Paraguas and Santa Fe Danceworks continue the annual Dia de Los Muertos celebration October 28-29 with bilingual poetry, music, dance, and a community altar and potluck. Festivities will take place at Casablanca Studios (1935 Warner Avenue) and at Teatro Paraguas.

JoJo Sena de Tarnoff and Alix Hudson direct the fifth annual A Musical Piñata for Christmas, a family celebration with music, dance, bilingual poetry and a short bilingual play. As always, each performance ends with a piñata onstage. Performance dates are December 8-17.

Our Poesía Viva! series, now in its 14th year, focuses on Spanish language poetry inspired by the border. La Poesía de la Frontera features theatrical presentations of poems selected by Alix Hudson. The offering is directed by Argos MacCallum with six performances January 19-28, 2018. English translations of the poems will be projected.

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Quiara Alegria Hudes works her lyrical magic once again in Daphne's Dive, a play about the denizens of a Philadelphia bar and the vicissitudes of their lives. The play premiered Off-Broadway at the Signature Theater in May 2016. The play is written and will be performed in English, with performances April 5-22

Teatro Paraguas Children's Theatre will present two plays November 17-19, 2017 and April 27-29, 2018. The plays will be directed by Rebecca Morgan and JoJo Sena de Tarnoff, who have presented children's theatre in Santa Fe since 1988.
