Now Playing Onstage in Albuquerque - Week of 1/19/2014 LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS
Aux Dog Theatre Nob Hill
1/10-2/2/2014
Little Shop of Horrors is a comedy, a love story and a cult classic! It's written by multiple Academy and Tony Award winners Howard Ashman and Alan Menken. Business booms at the rundown Mushnik's Flower Shop, on skid row on New York City's lower east side, when an exotic potted plant named Audrey II arrives. It turns out to be a carnivorous "mean green mother from outer space", filling the little shop with larger and larger doses of horror! Little Shop first flowered as a low-budget black and white Roger Corman film, then resprouted as a smash off-Broadway and eventual on-Broadway musical comedy hit! It then came full circle as a 1986 Frank Oz musical movie version starring Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene and Steve Martin. It's great fun, with a great score and you'll be screaming with laughter!!!

Albuquerque Little Theatre
1/24-2/9/2014
The world's longest-running play, now celebrating its 60th year! A group of strangers is stranded in a boarding house during a snowstorm, one of whom is a murderer. The suspects include the newly-married couple who runs the house, a spinster with a curious background, an architect who seems better equipped to be a chef, a retired Army major, a strange little man who claims his car has overturned in a drift, and a jurist who makes life miserable for everyone. Into their midst comes a policeman, traveling on skis. To get to the rationale of the murderer's pattern, the policeman probes the background of everyone present, rattling a lot of skeletons along the way. Another famous Agatha Christie switch finish!
