Ever wonder what happens in the light booth when something you are watching on stage suddenly goes wrong? William Missouri Downs (author of the past NSTC productions "Cockeyed," "Mad Gravity," and "Seagulls in a Cherry Tree") shows us in this zany new comedy! The Los Angeles Times wrote that it is "a delightfully funny play."

On the final night of the Chicago-Ensemble-Repertory-Group-Theatre- Project's doomed production of "Hamlet," everything that can go wrong does. The cast of "Hamlet" all get food poisoning, no one can find Yorick's skull, and the police arrive, wanting to interrupt the show to make an announcement about moving a car. Then, in the midst of all the chaos, the critic from the Chicago Tribune arrives. At this point, the techies hatch a murder plot to kill the critic!

The cast of "Headsets: A View from the Light Booth" includes three actors who recently appeared in NSTC's "Seagulls in a Cherry Tree." Joshua Taulbee plays Hammet, the highly stressed Stage Manager/Technical Director/Producer, Monte H. Wright is Claude, Hammet's stepfather and light board operator, and Elli Hernandez is the exasperated Assistant Stage Manager, trying to stay calm throughout all the disasters which are occuring. David Reyes recently seen in "A New Brain" and "Out of Sterno," plays Garry Cooper, a spear carrier in the play with greater aspirations, Gorton Smith is the irritating policeman, and Peter Herman, NSTC's Resident Designer and Technical Director, plays Dick, the far too laid back Sound Board Operator who enjoys watching "The Love Boat" episodes between sound cues. The NSTC Technical production team for the play includes Stage Manager Jazmen Escarcega, and David Arias, Board Operator.
