Wunderkammer is a sexy, funny and explosive new vision of contemporary circus set to enthrall audiences with spectacular physical feats from 1- 4 October at Her Majesty's Theatre.

Wunderkammer is a heady cocktail of circus, cabaret and vaudeville. In this white-hot spectacle, a diva melts into a rope, balloons and bubble wrap discover their artistic souls, while bodies twist and fly, transforming the very fabric of reality. Created by Yaron Lifschitz and the Circa Ensemble, this gravity defying, body contorting spellbinder has to be seen to be believed.

Comprising of seven performers, the show is made up of a series of acrobatic vignettes, each one focusing on one discipline, such as the trapeze, group acrobatics and even a comedic dancing sequence. Unlike in traditional circus, elaborate costumes and characters are stripped away, leaving a raw physical and expressive connection with the audience.

Brisbane-based Circa have toured extensively internationally since 2006, touring to 30 countries across six continents and performing to over 500,000 people. In 2011, Circa introduced a second ensemble -- bringing the number of full-time performers to 21 -- to meet the international demand for their work. In 2012 their production, How Like an Angel, was featured as part of London's Cultural Olympiad.

Artistic Director Yaron Lifschitz is a graduate of UNSW, University of Queensland and NIDA, where he was the youngest director ever accepted into its prestigious graduate director's course. He has directed over 50 productions including main stage theatre, physical theatre, large scale events and opera. Yaron became Artistic Director/CEO of Rock 'n' Roll Circus in 1999, which was then renamed Circa in 2004.

Original, frightening and staggeringly beautiful, Wunderkammer will have you on the edge of your seat until the final curtain.
