The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey in Summit is offering "Sip and Sample," a Summer Adult Art Camp held in the evenings. This summer, the camp will run every Wednesday from 7:00pm to 9:30pm beginning on July 12 and concluding on August 16. Each week the campers will sample a different art medium, led by a professional working artist. The media included are: ceramics on the potter's wheel, collage and mixed media, painting with acrylics on canvas, zentangle, indigo dying, and printmaking.

Students are encouraged to bring along their favorite beverage, and enjoy art-making in a fun, festive, and relaxed atmosphere. "It's so rare that adults have the opportunity to try new things," says Cynthia McChesney, Director of Development and Marketing. "This sampler gives adults the chance to experiment and explore in a warm and supportive environment."

The tuition is $300, which covers materials and snacks. Campers must bring their own beverages. This camp is open to students aged 21 and up. Register by phone at 908-273-9121, online at http://www.artcenternj.org, or in person at the Art Center. The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey is located at 68 Elm Street in Summit, NJ and is open seven days a week.
