Submissions & Fan Nominations Now Open for 7TH ANNUAL STREAMY AWARDS

dick clark productions, the world's largest producer and proprietor of televised live event programming, and Tubefilter, the leading resource for Youtube and online video news, analysis, and events, today announced that submissions and fan nominations are now open for the 7TH ANNUAL STREAMY AWARDS . Changes to this year's categories include an expansion of the Branded and Social Good categories, greater emphasis on original series with the addition of Comedy and Drama Series awards, and the removal of gender distinction in the performance categories. Additionally, select categories have been broadened to encompass submissions from creators who distribute video primarily via social media platforms. Celebrating the best in online video and the creators behind it, the 7th Annual Streamy Awards will stream LIVE on Twitter from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA on Tuesday, September 26, 2017.

Submissions and fan nominations for the 7th Annual Streamy Awards are now open via the Streamys website and close at 11:59 pm PT on Friday, June 9, 2017. Nominations will be announced this summer.

Recognizing the critical role that fans play in the digital community, the Streamy Awards will once again allow the public to choose one of the five official nominees in select categories. The entrant in each select category with the most fan nominations will automatically become one of the nominees. Fan nominations are now open at the Streamys website. In addition, two Audience Choice Awards - Creator of the Year and Show of the Year - will be determined entirely by fan vote.

Streamy Awards winners are determined by the Streamys Blue Ribbon Panel, comprised of a select group of leaders shaping the future of entertainment. They include creators, executives, and other experts in the online video industry.

The live stream of the 6th Annual Streamy Awards garnered over 750,000 views, a 128% increase over the prior year. Additionally, over 6.8MM total votes were cast for the Audience Choice categories at the 6th Annual Streamy Awards, which was an 81% increase from the year prior.
