The 4th Annual Mystery Fest Key West will take place June 16 - 18 at the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Grand Key in Key West, Florida. Reservations are still available at mysteryfestkeywest.com The gala opening reception at the Hemingway Home will feature John Hemingway as the speaker. Saturday's program includes author Clifford Irving as the luncheon speaker. The weekend's panels and workshops will present nearly two-dozen famed mystery writers and true crime experts - among them Heather Graham, Lisa Black, Nancy J. Cohen, John H. Cunningham, Charles Todd, Randy Rawls, Bill Craig, and James O. Born. Four meals are included. And a special event at the stately Custom House Museum is scheduled for Saturday evening. Special AdditionThis year Mystery Fest Key West attendees have the opportunity to pitch their book ideas to a literary agent. Hopeful mystery writers can sign up for a "pitch session" with one of these three well-known literary agents and editorial director of a major publishing house:

  • Jessica Faust of Bookends Literary Agency
  • Dianna Collier owner/agent Collier & Associates
  • Tom Colgan of the Berkley Publishing Group

Simply sign up for a quarter-hour session when you pick up your registration badge. Each session is $25, which goes toward the travel costs of the agents. During your one-on-one appointment you can pitch your book with an experienced literary agent, discuss the concept, and receive helpful feedback on how to sell the manuscript. Also, there will be a silent auction for each of these literary experts to read and review a manuscript in more depth.
