The critically acclaimed NEW ENGLISH BALLET THEATRE is one of Britain's most exciting contemporary ballet companies; run by its visionary founder and Artistic Director Karen Pilkington-Miksa, NEBT specialises in commissioning new work from both established and fast rising choreographers for dancers from the UK and beyond.

On June 29th NEBT will make its highly anticipated debut at Lilian Baylis Studio (Sadler's Wells) with a deliciously entertaining summer programme entitled: 'Vivaldi's Four Seasons and Other Modern Ballets'. The programme includes the world premiere of 'The Four Seasons', choreographed by former ENB dancer/choreographer Jenna Lee and performed to the prolific composer Max Richter's score 'Vivaldi Recomposed'.

The evening will also re-present - by popular demand - performances of 'Enticement's Lure' by Royal Ballet First Soloist and choreographer Valentino Zucchetti and 'Vertex' by former Dutch National Ballet dancer and choreographer Daniela Cardim, both of which premiered in the company's 2016 season.

NEBT: 'Vivaldi's Four Seasons and Other Modern Ballets' at:
June 29th London, Lilian Baylis Studio at 7.30pm www.sadlerswells.com

July 11th Essex, Grays Thameside Theatre at 7.30pm Thameside Theatre

July 16th Cheltenham Music Festival, Everyman Theatre at 7.30pm Cheltenham Festival
* Cheltenham: The Gildas Quartet will perform the music for Vertex (Camargo Guarnieri's String Quartet No. 2) and Enticement's Lure (with Anne Lovett on piano and Gildas Quartet's Gemma Sharples on violin and Anna Menzies on cello playing Rachmaninoff's Trio Elegiaque No. 1 in G Minor)

Choreographers:

'Enticement's Lure' for five dancers by Valentino Zucchetti to Rachmaninoff's Trio Elegiaque No. 1 in G Minor is a study of two couples' relationships. A Royal Ballet Soloist since 2012, Valentino has created numerous pas de deux, solos and pieces for the Royal Ballet's Draft Works and Orbital Motion for NEBT's 2014/15 season.

'Vertex' is by Daniela Cardim for 8 dancers set to Brazilian composer Camargo Guarnieri's String Quartet No. 2. Daniela danced with the Dutch National Ballet for 11 years and Ballet do Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro for 5 years. She has made works for NEBT, Dutch National Ballet, Ballet do Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo Companhia de Dança and many more. She was recently cited as 'a new name to watch' by Dance Europe magazine.

Jenna Lee trained at the Royal Ballet School and English National Ballet School and at 18 joined ENB, rising to Soloist in 2008. As well as dancing major roles, Jenna also created many of ENB's more adventurous small scale dance works. Jenna is also an expert in mass-participation choreography and has choreographed adverts including one for Citroen. In 2014, Jenna left ENB to concentrate on choreographing.

"Making ballet accessible to everyone is extremely important for the development of ballet," says Jenna. "We need the dads, the younger generation who haven't been exposed to ballet before, to give them a taster of what ballet is all about. I love that NEBT is opening its doors to a new audience and it is one of the reasons I am attracted to the company. The dancers at NEBT are talented, versatile, full of tenacity and ready for a challenge. They are the perfect company for me to create The Four Seasons on. I love Max Richter's Vivaldi Recomposed and I hope audiences will enjoy the resulting piece."
