Freeform Announces Premieres of THE FOSTERS and New Original Drama THE BOLD TYPE

This summer, Freeform, Disney's young adult television and streaming network, brings together the brave and the bold for a Tuesday night programming block of family, friendship and feels. The powerful night will kick off on TUESDAY, JULY 11, with the summer premiere of "The Fosters" (8:00 - 9:01 p.m. EDT) and the two-hour series premiere of "The Bold Type" (9:01 - 11:00 p.m. EDT). Both premieres will also be available on the FreeForm app and Freeform.com (same date and time).

In the season premiere of "The Fosters" entitled "Resist," Stef frantically searches for Callie after she offers to help Diamond thinking she has nothing to lose after accepting the plea deal. Struggling with his TBI, Jesus unleashes his anger after discovering Brandon helped Emma with a deeply personal decision. With Mariana leading the charge, protests continue over Anchor Beach Charter's privatization.

In the series premiere of "The Bold Type" entitled "Pilot," newly promoted writer Jane is unsettled when Jacqueline assigns her a big story - writing about why her ex broke up with her. Kat chases a story about outspoken photographer Adena, but is confused by her strong connection to the woman. Meanwhile, Sutton tries not to feel left behind by her best friends as she still toils in the assistant ranks. But she shocks them when they uncover a major secret Sutton has been keeping - her scandalous affair with lusted-after Scarlet magazine lawyer Richard.

In the second hour, "O Hell No," Kat finds herself questioning her identity as she continues to spend time with Adena. Jane is horrified when she is tasked with writing Scarlet's sex column - especially when her story turns intensely personal. And Sutton is given an opportunity to advance at Scarlet, but questions if it's what she really wants to be doing with her life.

"The Fosters" is executive produced by Jennifer LOPEZ and created by Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige, who also serve as executive producers and writers, along with Joanna Johnson. Greg Gugliotta, Elaine Goldsmith Thomas and Benny Medina also serve as executive producers. The series stars Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Hayden Byerly, Noah Centineo, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, Danny Nucci and Cierra Ramirez. The series is produced by Nuyorican Productions, Inc. in association with Freeform.

"The Bold Type" is executive produced by Sarah Watson, David Bernad, Joanna Coles and Ruben Fleischer. Holly Whidden is co-executive producer. The series is a Universal Television and The District production. The series stars Katie Stevens, Aisha Dee, Meghann Fahy, Sam Page, Matt Ward and Melora Hardin as Jacqueline, editor in chief of Scarlet Magazine.
